Unless we, as entrepreneurs, understand the inner purpose of our business, how can we move forward to create the success we desire?
Beyond Logic…
Understanding ‘why’ we do what we do, however, is not enough. We must believe in why we do what we do. And when we can begin to believably share our purpose with our target markets, we will start to engage their desire to want what we believe in as well.
The more authentically we can ignite up their imagination, the more effectively and quickly we can attract the innovators. But it’s the early adapters who are the critical influencers and who actually tip the scales of success by sharing with larger groups of people and growing the belief level in the company and its products or services.
Simon Sinek, in his TED Talks presentation, shows us how the Law of Diffusion of Innovation works across most cultural and consumer groups. It starts with a critical mass of people really believing in you, and then moves into the early ‘majority’ of customers who grow your business to a whole new success level. Cool Fire!
It ‘s not even dependent on the type of business you are involved in. It’s about where you are placing most of your attention.
Most entrepreneurs work really hard in the pursuit of their dreams. Yet, the majority never reach their goals, or even get close. Why is that?
Srikumar Rao, executive consultant and MBA teacher, says most of us get it completely backwards. That’s because we’ve been working off the wrong mental model. So, it’s a matter of finding the correct focus and living in it.
He speaks about this in this Ted’s Talks presentation called, “Plug In To Your Hard-Wired Happiness”.
After watching this, some of you may feel a paradigm shift, while others will, as I did, get a very timely reminder of what’s really important in life. After all, focusing on process trumps outcome any day of the week, without reducing it to an either/or decision. We set the outcome, and then detach from the need to attain it before we can be happy. Otherwise we become very needy entrepreneurs. And that’s a contradiciton in itself.
Too many of us are overly dependent on outcome for our happiness, rather than being in the bliss of the pursuit: learning new skills and capacities, going deep into the practice, building relationships and enjoying our unique entrepreneurial journey
My teacher Tulshi Sen says, “The purpose of life is the expansion of happiness”. The secret of a successful expansion lies in our daily process. It’s a matter of Consciousness creating reality. If our consciousness is trapped in the if/then mental scenario, we’re doomed before we even start. And, life becomes unbearable.
Let us continually ask ourselves, where are we placing our consciousness, right now? This way we can continually make corrections, like the good pilots do. Abundant outcomes will be waiting at our feet…
Few people believe they can have whatever they want in life. It often gets turned into whatever they think they can get. It’s no wonder only a few of us actually succeed in fulfilling our heart’s desire.
Most people are buffeted by challenges and losses of some kind or other. Or, they have never developed a strong enough self-image, as a child. If they dared to step out of the mold, they were quickly corralled back in. Others were victims of the old saying, “Children should be seen and not heard”. It could have been any number of experiences that deeply imprinted themselves in their child’s mind at the time.
Learning To Survive
As young children, no matter how wonderful their world was, they did not have all the resources at their disposal. And so they coped the best way they knew how, to survive and move on. And, most people have been very successful at getting through childhood traumas and hurts.
The price paid however, is they just want to live a regular life. Without upsetting any major routines or loved ones, they hope to make it safely to retirement and eventually to death. But where’s the joy in that?
Dare anyone ask for more? If the answer is yes, then you need to ask another question. What kind of ‘more’ does your heart yearn for. Forget asking your mind for the moment, as it will likely just want to increase its pleasure or avoid pain. And, it got you into this predicament in the first place.
Entrepreneurs, on the other hand, always want to create more. However, they too, can still fall into the trap that most other people fall into when the day-to-day strain of living is allowed to build up. As Cicero said, “The price of freedom is eternal vigilance”.
Ancient Secrets Of Success
Wise people since ancient times have learned how to bypass the security guardof the mind for this important step. Then once the heart has taken command, the mind is called on as an able helper in fulfilling the desires of the heart. It makes a good servant. But only the heart is the true master, as Tulshi Sen reflects on throughout his book, Ancient Secrets of Success for Today’s World.
Also it is best to keep this stage private and not share it with others. Families and friends are renown for sabotaging dreams before they even get formed as seeds. Then the damage is done. It’s not out of spite, but out of genuine worry that you will fail. And there is no better way to create failure than to fear it, is there? They may also secretly fear you will succeed, change and no longer need them. And most people hate change. It takes them right out of their comfort zone.
Now, when you manage to begin the required inner work, it will probably trigger a whole host of reactions, excuses and interference from your own mind. After all, you are disturbing your mind’s peace as well. So, you would be wise to begin with small things at first. This way you can train your mind to take direction from your heart, rather than letting it stifle your true desires. I just love the quote of James Allen, “He thinks in secret and then it comes to pass”.
Courage and Perseverence
Most important, it’s crucial never to give up. If you have been diligently doing this process for a while and then become discouraged, it means you are probably getting closer than you think. Do you remember the saying, “It’s always darkest before the dawn”? This stage is often your ego’s last ditch effort to keep it from losing control over you. The ego wants to sting success just as you reach for it.
By persevering, this process will strength you further. You will be able to feed your heart more and more, day by day. Each genuine step, when taken, will move you in the direction of your heart’s desire. Now that is a life worth living.
Before we venture out full throttle in our respective directions, let’s take the time to meditate on the business and life we want to create for ourselves.
Knowing what we want as entrepreneurs and taking command of our own mind will allow us to successfully navigate the waves of change.
In order to do that, we must take control of our own thinking process. If we do not, the accelerating changes, which are virtually unstoppable, will completely consume us.
Even if we do manage to keep pace, we risk becoming frustratingly more knowledgeable, yet powerless, unless we can truly master our own mind.
In his New Year’s Message, Tulshi Sen says, “It is time to step back and take a hard look at our life and put into practice all the Laws of Success; and have the Law of Attraction obey us; and only attract what we want and not what we fear.” It’s not a one-time effort, but requires daily focus until it becomes as natural as breathing.
Mastery by transcending and taking command of the mind is at the heart of the four proclamations described in Tulshi Sen’s Ancient Secrets Of Success for Today’s World. It is very simple to practice and only takes a few minutes a day.
These proclamations reveal the truth of who we really are. Only then can we take command of our lives. Tulshi Sen says, “When we know the truth and understand the truth and enter into the wisdom of the truth, we become the truth.”
Then nothing can stop us from the success we are seeking. We’ll live from the core of our being and be in full control of our lives.
Tulshi Sen’s New Year’s telecast, “Stepping Back”:
You may be enjoying wonderful HOLIDAY gatherings with family and friends or traveling to exotic warm places. Many of you will be spending time celebrating the season, while finishing up year-end work and planning for next year.
Yes, excitement is high this time of the year, and so is the STRESS level of the holidays for many I am sure.
Now, imagine dealing with the stress of the holidays in such a unique way that allows us to feel the joy of the holidays, while creating the best vision of who we want to become as individuals and entrepreneurs? This is exactly the gift I received from my Teacher’s latest Teleseminar:
“Raise Your Belief Level To Turn Stress Of the Season To More Joy For The Season”
Tulshi Sen, author of Ancient Secrets Of Success For Today’s World, describes the three causes of stress and how it gets triggered, robbing us of the Holidays’ true purpose. He says, “The Holiday is for empowerment. We just finished thanksgiving and are full of gratitude for the Harvest of our Life. This is a time to go deep beneath the surface of the snow and meditate and vision for the spring to sprout a new life and bring forth the process of growth.”
He also talks about this being a time to let go and allow ourselves to follow the natural process. “It is a quiet, contemplative time, away from all negativity. We don’t want to rush. We must let ourselves go and let whatever comes, come. We must follow nature.”
For those of us who typically feel a sense of urgency and the need to accomplish goals within an self-imposed time-frame, this certainly is a welcome breath of fresh air. Mr. Sen reminds us to just be present, grateful and giving and to let go of all other expectations from others.
He also reminds us that stress can be leveraged for power, but only if we have a purpose and vision for our lives. If we already have a vision, but it’s causing us frustration and worry, then it’s not really a vision.
“Vision Is A Sight, which need not be manifested because it’s already there. A Vision becomes manifest. We do not manifest a vision. We live it. We have to see it to believe it.”
As entrepreneurs it’s easy to get so caught up in the stress of the doing and the getting that we forget the Real Secret to Success is knowing we already have what we want and letting the Universe find the best way to unfold it for us. The more we can raise our belief level and get out of our own way, the less stress we will experience in the long run.
Stress is a great indicator of where we have placed our thoughts. He says that “Our stress comes out of our (lack of) belief level. Do we believe that we can accomplish our goals? If we believe we can, we cannot be stressed.”
When we can welcome the real message our Consciousness is trying to tell us, we can turn the stress into power. All of nature works this way. Evolution is proof of it.
Metamorphosis
Most of us are familiar with the miracle of the caterpillar becoming a monarch butterfly. This process is taught in basic science classes in most schools around the world. The transformation of the caterpillar into a butterfly is one of the most powerful examples of purposeful stress turned into power.
But, how many of us recognize that these same principles can apply to our own journey as entrepreneurs? All the great stories of success point to these principles of transformation of stress from one form or another into success.
I love listening to Mr. Tulshi Sen describing this process. Each time I listen to the telecast, I gain a much deeper heart-felt understanding of how I can apply this to my own journey. It inspires me to persevere with new levels of patience and feelings for my vision as I create this new cycle of my life.

Let us take a journey into the heart of the entrepreneur, where impossible dreams are conceived out of no-thing:
The Visioning Process
You are living at the center of your being. You ask yourself, “What do I want to create for my business? This is your intention.
Your want comes out of lack. It forms the embryo of your vision. It triggers your imagination, which is the womb that nurtures your vision to shape what you want to create.
If you know you can have it by existing means available, it’s not really a vision. It’s just a to-do list. A true vision comes from something that did not exist before.
Once we see it done, the vision is ours. We already have it inside. While living and growing the vision in the womb of our imagination, we carry out our daily activities with due diligence and a heightened sense of awareness and expectation. And, because we actually see it done already, the Universe gets to work to bring us all the needed tools. Manifestation is our vision’s birth in the physical world.
The great teachers, east and west say the same thing. For example, Jesus of Nazareth said, ” What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” (Mark 11:24)
And this is how truly successful entrepreneurs live; with certainty and awakened Consciousness.
Raising Your Belief Level
The power of the universe is inside us. Do we see it? Are we nurturing our vision? We can harness this power only when we are living and creating from our authentic self. When we are in that energy, the vision will develop.
More importantly, we need to work on our own personality. And that’s where the real work begins because our environment, our upbringing and our ingrained habits interpret that want and tell us that we can’t have it, because it’s beyond our current means.
We have to really believe in what we want and not make-believe it. Tulshi Sen, author of Ancient Secrets Of Success For Today’s World says, “To train the mind to believe we create out of no-thing is our mission in life.” The mind cannot vision. It can only project the future based on our past and present conditions. We have to convince the mind to obey our heart, our consciousness.
That is where the four proclamations come in. These simple meditative practices transform the personality by freeing the mind from past conditioning, current limitations and fear of the future.
We can’t effectively use the mind to convince the mind. We have to transcend the mind with the deep insights from consciousness. And that’s an inner journey.
Nurturing Your Inner Environment
Look inside your own heart for the answers to what you want for your business and your own development. When we believe that in the want is the power of the Universe with all its means, then we can get it. As Tulshi Sen says, ” Every desire carries its own mathematics with it. It has all the means in it, if we can really believe in it.” All contradictions will melt away.
I have found that when I get caught up too much in my head, I get overwhelmed by choices and decisions that need to be made. A part of me just wants to escape and I either delay taking relevant action or end up reversing decisions made under scarcity pressures. It’s a waste of energy, time and money.
It is only when I get back into my heart by surrendering to my Consciousness, do I find the peace and clarity to move forward again. That’s where real power lies. Appropriate action will come as a natural response to a raised belief level. Then I can see opportunities and self-development choices from a whole new vantage point. That’s when I and my vision become one and goal setting become its natural follow-through.
The Universe doesn’t make mistakes. But the mind frequently misses the mark unless the belief level is raised by our consciousness.
Know Why You Want It
We can begin by questioning our own motives for creating what we want to create. We do this from the place of knowing that everything we need is there to manifest what our heart wants. The universe is just waiting for us to uncover, focus and hold fast to what we want.
When we know what we really want and believe it in our heart, the means will present itself. That’s the Law of the Universe.
It’s important to keep asking ourselves, “What is my deep burning desire?” Desire is not a lament. It is a promise waiting to be fulfilled by the power of your Vision.
Here is Tulshi Sen’s audiocast that inspired this post. May it feed your own exploration.
I’ve been participating in Tulshi Sen’s (author of Ancient Secrets Of Success For Today’s World) wonderful audio webcasts about goal setting from a raised belief level. His insights are universal and especially appeal to the entrepreneur wanting to make a meaningful difference in the success of their business and life.
Right off the bat, Tulshi Sen challenges us with, “When we set goals and our mind knows it can achieve it, it is not a vision, it is a to-do list.”
How often in business have we been guilty of this, by passing off our sure-bets as goal-setting? Too often?
Goal Setting Compromised
In my corporate experience this was labeled as the ‘A for Attainment’ element when setting SMART goals. I remember being puzzled by this. Now I see it was really a process for organizing and managing plans, capacities and responsibilities. It did have some degree of stretch you could financially project. But, since compensation was tied to the attainment, it bred a certain level of caution. Of course, this was an easier process when you were in a growth business, as I was. What was missing was the emphasis on raising your belief level to bring you and your team into new possibilities and visions.
Raising Your Belief Level
80% or more of attaining Success has to do with raising your belief level. The rest is details, responsibly managed, of course. Ask any truly successful entrepreneur. They pursue their goals from a raised belief level, often against the collective minds of others. It is that kind of faith in themselves that creates their success. If they don’t succeed the first time, they keep at it until they make success their process.
You see, our belief level is a measure of our capacity to want more for our business and our life. And we cannot raise our belief level based on what we think we can get. It demands more of us. It demands that we grow beyond our fear of failure.
Knowing What You Really Want
Most people know deep inside what they really want, and it’s always more than who they are being right now. Yet fear of failure makes most people shove it under the rug and stick with the status quo. So the journey gets aborted before it begins.
Yet there exists inside each of us an innate desire to reach out for more joy, more abundance and more love. Ask your heart, “What do you want?”
With no want, you have no Vision. And as Tulshi Sen says, “A life without Vision is a blind life. A life without direction is an unloved life.” So let’s love ourselves and find out what we really want.
Here is the audiocast to inspire your own exploration.
The successful ones carry their vision with them everywhere and at all times. Their vision has become a part of them. Great leaders made huge sacrifices to get to this level of success. They now embody their vision. Albeit, some do wear a few battle scars, as badges of honor, marking the challenges they faced and conquered along the way.
These entrepreneurs will tell you it was worth every pain and opposition, because it pushed them forward in the direction of their dreams. Problems became stepping stones to discover their true expression in a particular product, service or purpose, as the case may be.
Question is, are you fired up about your vision? Do you feel it in your bones? And, are you able to sustain your vision?
Are You Stuck?
Most people get tangled up at this stage. Many entrepreneurs do manage to set their vision and goals. Then almost immediately, powerful opposing forces set in to test them or slowly tear away at those dreams. It may take the form of well-meaning friends and family or the current economic environment. Even more dangerously, their own doubts and fears take over.
We need to continually ask ourselves, what are we visioning? If we find ourselves picturing that we can’t have our beloved vision for whatever reason, then we’ve lost our belief, haven’t we?
So how can we continually believe we will have whatever we vision?
All the masters and teachers of all ages say the same thing: that whatever you can vision and believe in, you will have.
Secret Of Success
The real secret is to raise our belief level to desire what we could only fantasize before …and previously hold as a vision for only a few seconds or two. We are, in effect, training ourselves to become more resilient. And when we become more resilient, we don’t need the level of security we thought we would. We are ready to step out there, beyond the fears that used to hold us back, and make our mark in the world.
Raising our belief level increases our happiness quotient, our self-love and resilience. What has love got to do with it, you may ask? Everything actually!
Low self-love breeds low self-esteem and we become afraid. As Tulshi Sen says, “You don’t get what you want, you get what you are.” Are we afraid that we are not good enough? Can we let ourselves imagine what our heart is longing to express and contribute in our world? Will we allow ourselves to experience the romance of self and extend that to our business and our life?
Our intention, to be all we can be, comes out of our consciousness and is the fire of our desires. It sparks our imagination to create the visions we want to manifest.
Imagination Is Your True Power
Now, our belief level reflects our capacity to imagine. It can either enhance the process or shut it down. When we feel romance, we lose all fear and believe we can be, do and have our heart’s desires. We create new visions out of our active imagery that has been unleashed. Our imagination is our true power, our only power. Even Einstein said that imagination is greater than knowledge.
For most people, the imagination has been locked up in a padlock and needs a Master Key to open it up again, and to keep you on track. The great philosophers and leaders throughout the ages successfully utilized graphical active imagery to keep their imaginations and resourcefulness intact during times of crisis and change.
This Master Key lives inside our heart and when unleashed lets us boldly go where we have never gone before.

Part 2 – How Can I Believe I Will Have Whatever I Can Vision?
There’s no question that the internet is the largest, most extensive human connector in the world at this time in history. It can, however, be the most isolating and largest separator of people and significant relationships. That’s because it is so easy to hide in front of a computer monitor and avoid deeply engaging with the outside world.
There exists a fundamental truth that you have to be connected to get connected and have connections. When you can take care of your being state, you allow the rest to emerge through an orderly process of growth. And how can you experience being and staying connected in your chosen markets? Your own Strategic Visioning process will help you clarify your success arena and consciously connect in-person with experts in your marketplace.
Start With A Powerful Intention
Ask yourself, what do you really want? What is your idea behind this connection? How will you benefit? How will these connections help you choose, understand, and conquer your marketing arena? How will you feel in this connection? See yourself enjoying the fruits of this connectedness.
Go Into Your Imagination
Feel the deep purpose of your intention. What will you be having and doing as you enjoy the fruits of your connection? Go beyond what is already familiar to you. Even Einstein said that imagination is more important than knowledge.
No limits are allowed here. This way you can free your mind from the clutches of familiarity and history. You need to train your mind that what you have imagined is reality. Then it will accept and allow you to imagine it. It’s a paradox.
Order Your Imagination Into A Vision
Organize it into a picture. Connect the imagination pieces together into a form. See it in great detail, with all your senses. Frame it. Live in it. Make it your reality. Focus on it fully. Hold on to it. And guard your thoughts with faith in your vision. Allow no distractions. Know it’s already yours.
This Creates The Power To Manifest Your Desires
You will start doing and having out of the power of your intention, imagination, Visioning and Manifesting process. Be prepared to be tested in your determination to succeed. Let your consciousness lead the way. Don’t give up. And don’t give in to overwhelm. The more aligned you are to your vision, the lighter and more capable you will become.

Consciously Connect
Get the best and latest information on how to communicate with and market to your prospects and customers. The fastest, most accurate and effective way to do this is to learn from the top marketers who have already succeeded in your arena.
There are so many ways to do this online: live online interactive courses (teleseminars and webinars) and replays, home study programs, blogs, forums and social media, etc.
If you intend to succeed in a big way on the internet, nothing beats in-person learning, networking and socializing. There is a special dynamic that takes over. It eclipses other types of learning and accelerates your success process significantly. It works even better if your intention and vision are clear before you attend.
The Power of Live Events
At the best events, you are effectively immersed with like-minded people. You form relationships and future partnerships that otherwise would not have been possible. And you benefit from the power of sharing and problem-solving together.
Getting to know top marketers in person is always less intimidating than experiencing them on screen or in writing. The feeling of sharing in the seminars, at meals and breaks, and the fun and laughter that ensue, transforms their perceived personas into a shared friendliness. You’ll find yourself getting into the groove of the atmosphere and may even come up with a few insightful gems of your own.
I know this, because I have traveled to powerful marketing gatherings. After just a few days of live meetings and training, I found myself buzzing with new inspirations for weeks and implementing new winning strategies.
When you allow yourself to be around great marketers and mentors, your own ideas will start to percolate and take form. Fellow participants around you, almost always, will affirm them, because you brought out a unique perspective they had not thought about beforehand and you ended up brainstorming right there on the spot. So go ahead and treat your being to a live event.
People often interchange the terms ‘wants vs desires’. So, this query is very subtle. Our mind may even purposely dismiss its inherent nuances. Yet our answer will reveal how we live our life and work on our business.
WARNING: When you dig down deep enough, your mind may get very agitated and force you to abandon the question. Hopefully, you will be intrigued enough to probe further.
Why is it important to know the difference between wants and desires?
Because herein lies the key to creating and sustaining a successful life. Some entrepreneurs prefer satisfying their wants and see desires as frivolous or at best, fantasies. Others may say that both are important and it really depends on the particular situation. Still others may already be living in the Consciousness of their Vision while going about their day to day activities.
Fair enough. To answer this question we have to know – what is a want? Tulshi Sen, author of Ancient Secrets Of Success For Today’s World says that a want comes out of some kind of lack, and is often driven by fear or pain. This can lead us to take courage, create a powerful strategic focus or wallow in anxiety and self-doubt. A desire on the other hand, is a promise already living in our heart and is driven by the innate motivation to complete that desire. So, let’s ask the deeper question.
What is our motivation behind what we do? Why did we get up this morning – to put food on the table and have extra money in the bank for those special luxuries for ourself and our dear ones? Or is it to pay off our debts and try to get ahead of the game? Or, maybe we want to make so much money that we can retire early to pursue that favorite hobby or travel the world. It may be to do what we love while giving back to others.
Why do you desire success?
We must seek the answer. Be especially true to ourselves here. Let’s take a few moments to go inside to get our own answer. If other questions arise, that’s good. We just keep probing till our answer rings true for us. The more we write down our answers, the more clearly we’ll understand our own motivations and the more powerful we will become. It will make us less dependent on outside conditions for our success. Now, what was hidden can be revealed.
This work is unique to each of us. No one else can do it for us. Our own mind will try to take over the job of our Consciousness and make us forget who we are. Beyond that there are whole industries, so-called experts and substances waiting to direct our mind to avoid pain or gain some measure of pleasure or wealth. So we must be wary of those distractors, as well.
I say this because in the past I did allow others undue influence in my life. I became overly dependent on their advice and so-called energetic knowingness. One day I had a rude awakening and it made be realize in no uncertain terms that nobody can break into the sacred territory of my Consciousness unless I allowed them in. It was a great lesson in self-discovery. I also learned that there are no shortcuts to truly knowing yourself. The good, the bad and even the ugly experiences will bring you back into your own Being if you are willing to learn from them.
The best teachers inspire at the level of principles.
They never tell you specifically what you should do with your life. They know that inner breakthroughs must be self-discovered and not prescribed by themselves or others. Ultimately, only you can tap into your infinite Self to realize who you really are and what you want to become in this Universe of infinite possibilities.
REMEMBER THIS: the untrained mind loves to be flattered, appeased and directed. It always rules out of fear and anxiety, unless it is put back in it’s place by our Consciousness. Once that happens, our mind is set free to explore and help us attain success beyond its wildest imaginings.
So the real work is to develop the mental muscles to overcome the fears and denials of the mind and its conspirators and place trust where it belongs, in our own heart. Now we can allow our deepest desires to bring the success we long for and deserve. At the same time, we will confidently allow others into our life to help us along the way.
